HUMAN RACIAL ADVANTAGES

Origins:
Nobody knows how the Humans race started. Ask any Humans, and they don’t really care. Humans tend to see life as too short and too fragile for them to be looking so far back in the past. The only things that Humans know is that they are the dominant race of Mordavia, are anywhere, everywhere, doing anything, and everything. Everything else is details that most Humans just aren’t interested in. The one detail that other races like to make some bones about is that in the formation of the Kingdom of Mordavia, it was set up so that only a Human could be King. Humans counter this by saying that there has not been a King in over 10,000 years, so nobody should care.

Attributes:
Humans are not particularly hearty people, but they tend to survive very well. Humans are notoriously adaptable, especially when in small groups. Humans learn very quickly and have the capacity to produce and expand at rates that most other races find mind boggling. Humans are also incredibly smart as a whole and tend to be powerful casters. But then again, Humans are good at everything they do.

Applications:
Humans are built to do everything. They are excellent scholars, soldiers, rogues, mages, advisors, crafters, and anything else you can imagine. Humans really suffer no limitations except that they have a short life span by comparison and tend to be a lot squishier than other races. However, Humans counter being squishy by just being really really good.

Pre-Racial Advantages
Swift Learner: X ranks
Starting at level 1 and then again every 5 levels thereafter (5, 10, 15…), a Human earns a bonus 5 experience points for simply being a Human.

Racial Advantages

Adaptable Fighter: 5 Ranks (1/3lvls)
A Human can use almost anything around them as weapon at any given time. Humans can make a make-shift weapon from anything within reason. The damage of this weapon is equal to 0 +1 damage per rank + applicable strength. The quality of the weapon material may alter the damage output and effects how long it can be used as a weapon before it is destroyed.

Adrenaline Burst: 5 ranks (1/4lvls)
Humans have a powerful reaction to danger. Most use it to get the heck out of the way of danger, but for Humans who know how to harness it, this burst of Adrenaline turns into an incredibly useful survival trait. Once per day, per rank, for 5 minutes, a Human can activate this advantage to give themselves +1 strength per rank and +10 temporary hit points per rank. However, after use of this ability, the Human falls into a state of ‘Exhaustion’ for 10 minutes where they receive -1 strength and -10 hit points (to a minimum of 1 hit point) per rank of this ability.

Constitution: X ranks
Every time you purchase this advantage, you gain an additional 6 max hit points.

Group Tactics: 5 ranks (1/5lvls)
Humans are notoriously good at producing big results with relatively small numbers. Once per day, per rank, a Human with this advantage can give himself +1 damage per Human in his party, equal to the number of ranks in this advantage.

Hard to Kill: 5 ranks (1/4lvls)
Humans will to live drives them beyond the normal limits of what their bodies should normally be able to sustain before dying. Once per day, per rank, instead of going to ‘Bleeding’, a Human can automatically stabilize and heal for +2 hit points per rank.

Lucky Dodge: 5 ranks (1/5lvls)
Humans are incredibly lucky. Once per day, per rank, a Human can use this advantage to ‘dodge’ any non-Mastery attack. This counts as a ‘natural’ dodge.

Magical Prodigy: 3 ranks
Rank 1 – For every 4 spell slots in spell levels 1-3 purchased, a Human gains a 5th spell slot for free
Rank 2 – Same as above, except for spell levels 4-6.
Rank 3 – Same as above, except for spell levels 7.

Resilience: 4 ranks (1/5lvls)
Every rank of this advantage gives you greater survivability and lessens the length of time that you are affected by negative effects.
Rank 1 - +10 second bleed count, +30 second dying count, -30 seconds negative counts
Rank 2 - +20 second, +60 second, -40 second
Rank 3 - +30 second, +90 second, -50 second
Rank 4 - +40 second, +120 second, - 60 second

Resist Fear: 5 ranks (1/4lvls)
Once per day, per rank you can ‘Resist’ any Fear effect of levels 1-7.

Strength: 4 ranks (1/5lvls)
You gain +1 strength per rank.

Should you be able to choose when you use Hard to kill? Example: I get beaten down and decide to bleed for a bit, then can i use it? Or is it only usable when you receive the final blow of a weapon and hit bleeding? Clarification and discussion if needed.

It will need to be an immediate usage of the ability, in my opinion. It makes no sense to be bleeding out for a little while and then decide to get a second wind.

It just seems a waste, when an opponent usually would just hit you again with a barrage of attacks. I just think its a little weak unless you play it very smart. Ill be in agreement with you, but we must remind those who use it, to use it wisely.

Now that I think about it...If I recall properly, Bleeding does not cause total incapacitation. You can still crawl around slowly for a minute.

In that case, perhaps, the ability could be altered so that if you are going to bleed out and reach 'Dying' status, then you can activate 'Hard to Kill' instead of reaching your dissipation count? Is that too cool? The level restrictions would have to jump up if this was the change.

Let the person activate it when they want to. Even if you can't move while bleeding. Like Ryan said someones just going to keep beating on you for a while. Or maybe change it to once you hit dissipating it activates automatically. This would force your opponet to hang around you for at least a minute. I think the crawling while bleeding is fine unless your being beat on.
