IOVEC RACIAL ADVANTAGES

Origins:
Iovec are not born, they are created. In ancient times beyond remembrance, a great tragedy befell the High Elves and their Archangel Circle. The youngest of the siblings, Nicolae, was subjected to a horrible Necromantic curse. This curse twisted his mind and tore apart his soul as he became the First Vampire.
Nicolae went on a murderous rampage and began to subject others to his horrible curse. His spawn then began spreading the curse even farther. Realizing the severity of the situation, Minden used his considerable knowledge of magic and advanced ritual castings to turn the second oldest of the High Elves, Lucinda, into a creature of considerable power that was focused on the destruction of Undead…and Vampires in particular. She gathered 10 of the strongest Elves and passed on the enchantment that altered her form to them. Thus, the Iovec race was created.
New Iovec have been chosen from the ranks of Elves and Humans to fight and destroy Undead and Vampires ever since. The only downside is that a creatures past is erased, along with their personality and everything that made them who they were. Once subjected to the ritual that creates a Iovec, they are forever changed and dedicated to their new cause. However, they have been highly effective at what they do and several times in history have hunted Vampires to near extinction.

Attributes:
Iovec are a highly offensive minded race. They are built to hunt and to fight. In particular, they are the scourge of Necromantic forces of all kinds as they are specifically designed towards that end. Iovec also possess a decent degree of proficiency with White magic and inherited several of their Elven progenators healing abilities. This combination of martial prowess and magical aptitude make them incredibly effective melee combatants and slightly better battle healers than the Elves.

Applications:
The entire race is geared towards one main end, the destruction of Undead and Vampires. As such, Iovec easily find themselves working in army units or hunting parties that specialize in that role. While Iovec can do many other things and are not limited to this, their very nature makes them always more inclined towards martial callings. The Order of the Right Hand of God, the Kingdom’s only independent standing military force, which exists for the sole purpose of eradicating Necromancy boasts large numbers of Iovec in their ranks and many of the top commanders of this military force are Iovec.

Pre-Racial Advantages


Family Ties: 5 ranks (RP)
The Iovec are divided into 5 families. Each of these families have a sub-specialization when it comes to fighting Undead and Vampires. Every rank grants your character access to special skills, advantages, and other abilities based on your particular family.
Rank 0 – You are a simple squire within your family and have yet to be taught the greater secrets of your family tree.

Sense Vampire/Undeath: 5 ranks
Once per day, per rank, you can use ‘Sense Undeath/Vampire’ as per 'Sense' spells.


Racial Advantages

Constitution: X ranks
Every time you purchase this advantage, you gain an additional 10 max hit points

Healing Burst: 5 ranks
You can convert any spell into raw healing. The amount healed is equal to 1 point of healing per level of the spell burned. Each rank increases the healing factor by 1 point

Holy Blast: 3 ranks (1/4lvls)
You can convert any spell into raw holy damage. You deal 1 holy damage per level of the spell converted. The damage increases by a factor of 1 damage per rank.

Prestigious Hunter: 5 ranks (1/5lvls and RP)
You are particularly skilled at fighting and destroying the Undead. Once per day, per rank, you gain +1 damage against Undead of any kind and Vampires. Every rank increases this damage by +1 damage.

Purity of Soul: 5 ranks (1/5lvls)
Your soul is inherently resistant to the taint of Necromancy. Every rank allows you to ‘Resist’ one attempt to raise your body as an Undead. Resisting such an attempt renders you immune to further attempts to raise you by that same source using the same level effect. Using a more powerful effect will take precedence.
You also passively resist Necromantic taint from the use of the torture skill. This resistance must become overcome by a torture skill equal to 1 rank higher than your ranks in Purity of Soul.

Righteous: 5 ranks (1/5lvls)
Once per day, per rank, you can throw a ‘Righteous’ packet. This attack causes creatures with Black descriptors, Demons, Vampires, Orcs, Half-Orcs, and Undead to flee the presence of your character for 10 minutes.

Strength: 5 ranks (1/5lvls)
You gain +1 strength per rank

Toughness: 3 ranks (1/5lvls)
You gain +1 toughness per rank

Transfer Vitality: 5 ranks (1/5lvls)
You can transfer your own vitality into the bodies of others.
Rank 1 – 30 second count
Rank 2 – 20 second count
Rank 3 – 10 second count
Rank 4 – 5 second count
Rank 5 – Instant

White Attunement: 3 ranks
Your race is so inherently connected to White magic that it is easier for you to learn than other magic types.
Rank 1 – White spell slots cost 1 exp less to purchase for level 1-3 spells
Rank 2 – Same as above, except for level 4-6 spells
Rank 3 – Same as above, except for level 7 spells
